Adult Residential Colleges

Access to higher education courses are also offered at seven adult residential colleges in the UK. These are one-year accredited courses designed for people who have missed out on previous educational opportunities. They cover a variety of things such as sociology, environmental studies, European studies, law and women's studies. Educational bursaries which cover fees and accommodation are available to eligible students (usually over 20, resident in the UK for more than three years and no previous experience of higher education). Some also offer short courses, basic skills courses etc. Further details are available from the websites.
